The Quilters of St. Edward, a small group of dedicated and talented seamstresses, have just completed a month’s long mission of sewing a new funeral pall for use by the parish. The Pall, which is a white blanket or fabric, used at each funeral to cover the casket of the deceased individual as a sign of their white baptismal garment worn at Baptism. The new Pall, which has been quilted, reflects the dedication and personal investment each of the quilters have made in building the parish: stitch-by-stitch. It is a fitting symbol of the hard work and dedication the quilters have made in the overall life of the parish community over the years.
At the 8:30am Mass on August 24, 2014, our new funeral pall, that our quilters designed and created, was blessed.
